While studying with Ricardo Iznaola at the University of Denver, I won the Lamont Concerto Competition leading to a performance of Heitor Villa-Lobos' Concerto for Guitar and Small Orchestra under the baton of conductor Lawrence Golan. Critic Marc Shulgold of the Rocky Mountain News remarked, “Cosley delivered the solo parts with aplomb, shining most brightly in the extended cadenza.”
