Midwestern Hieroglyphs
is a two CD series of improvisations recorded as The Mandala Duo with the inimitable violinist Steven Lovinger. This music may qualify as "avant-garde" but retains an almost folksy quality.

Concerto for Guitar (Live)

I. Allegro grazioso
II. Adagio tranquillo
III. Rondo

A live recording of my Concerto for Guitar. Performed in Denver, Colorado at the Lamont School of Music in 2005. This was the premiere performance, part of my Master's thesis.

The Mandelbrot Set

The Mandelbrot Set I
The Mandelbrot Set II
The Mandelbrot Set III
The Mandelbrot Set IV

The Mandelbrot Set
is a large-scale improvisation with violinist Steve Lovinger. I've cut the performance into 4 sections, but it was improvised in a single, 25 minute take.

Circle Music

The Neighborhood
Socket Project
Philemon
Idol Factory

Here are several electric guitar selections from a series of "minimalist" compositions. Entitled Circle Music, these pieces were created with a single electric guitar and various pedals. The compositions are united by their use of ostinati. The Neighbourhood is a contrapuntal duet that explores ideas initially presented in its counterpart, Socket Project, an unusual study in texture and line. Philemon is a jazz influenced musing, while Idol Factory employs various delays to produce canonic effects and blurred accompaniment figures.
